We understand that achieving true sustainability takes far more than just minimising environmental impacts. Therefore, we are taking more of a holistic view and are integrating social and economic aspects into more and more of our projects. As a result, this guides us towards our goal of Sustainable Development in every aspect of the business.

BIFMA VOC Test Reports

Independent VOC third-party testing verifies that a collection of our products has passed against the BIFMA e3 standards. All are freely available on our website.

Eurofins Attestations

Independently confirming our aluminium glazed partitioning systems and Tech Panel product ranges comply to WELL, LEED and BREEAM in respect to VOC release. To download the documents please go to the Member’s Area and sign in.

ISO 14001: 2015

Our offices and manufacturing sites operate a third-party approved ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS). We have undergone a process of identifying our significant environmental impacts; setting key objectives and developing actions to continually address and also improve our environmental performance.

LEED

LEED is the environmental assessment standard operated by the US Green Building Council (USGBC). Considering materials, resources and indoor environmental quality, it seeks to improve a building’s environmental performance. Our project with Walls to Workstations at Twitter in Dublin contributed to a LEED platinum rating.

BREEAM

The UK’s prime built-environment sustainability scheme, BREEAM has grown into the most widely used certification for assessing the sustainability of building construction and fit-outs. Addressing key categories such as Materials, Health & Wellbeing and Waste BREEAM aims to mitigate the life cycle of buildings on the environment.

SKA is an environmental assessment tool designed specifically for landlords and tenants in the office and retail fit-out market. Operated by RICS it considers the specification and performance of systems and materials in the design/planning; delivery/construction; and occupancy stages of a project.

Portico

Portico is Google’s Healthy Materials on-line tool used to provide a product database for the selection and specification of healthy materials used in construction projects. We have therefore, undertaken work to consider the substances in our products and look to reduce any chemical deemed harmful.

Supply Chain Sustainability School

Optima is committed to continuous improvement in sustainability performance and awareness amongst staff. This is reflected in achieving School GOLD level Membership status, having:

completed self-assessments producing Action Plans for the business
continually used School training resources and provide access to staff
demonstrated an increase in sustainability competence
actively share our knowledge and experience with other School members in the form of a case study
