To us, design and continual innovation is everything. Our highly skilled in-house team of CAD designers work closely with you to create inspirational glass partition designs.
With over 30 years’ experience in office partitioning, at Optima we understand that every client and every project is different; each with a unique set of requirements. We listen carefully, adopting a proactive and flexible approach to design challenges. We are committed to finding the innovative solutions that you are looking for.
At Optima, we have a reputation for designing products that have a purpose and deliver exceptional results. They’re visually and technically impressive, offering remarkable performance and functionality.
The key to Optima’s success as a company is product development. Product design and creativity are at the heart of our offering and this is clearly demonstrated by our considerable annual investment in Research and Development.
We strive to launch a new product every year. We believe that constant innovation allows us to stay ahead of the market by enabling us to always build on our already expert knowledge. This result is that at Optima we are continually bettering our product and service offerings for clients.
We view each project as a collaboration between our team and yours. We actively encourage early involvement by holding design workshops with the project team before a project reaches a site. This ensures that design clashes are identified and resolved early on, thereby guaranteeing a smooth and seamless installation.
These regular meetings continue throughout the duration of the project, so we can react quickly to design variations or any other issues that might arise.
Our team of in-house CAD designers have a wealth of experience, having helped to design partitioning schemes for some of the most prestigious buildings in the UK and across the globe.
Their creativity and technical expertise ensures that we have the capacity to offer bespoke solutions, as well as standard products, that fully meet the required aesthetic and acoustic demands of a project. We provide clients with expert guidance throughout the design process, from initial discussions with the architect at the very start of the process, right through to project handover.
We currently provide a number of BIM objects, which you can access for free by registering via the Member’s Area of our website. These include 3D Autodesk Revit family files (RFA), which are user-friendly and provide a fully certified Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) export. We also provide 2D product details in the form of Autodesk AutoCAD files (DWG) and important performance data in the form of specification templates, acoustic and fire rated performance certificates.
All our in-house designers are familiar with BIM execution plans provided by the main contractors. These requirements change from project to project, as each client has their own standards that they wish to adhere to. Our families can be adapted from LOD 1-5 at any stage of a project and our asset data increases in complexity as the project progresses.
Our design team works in collaboration with your project team to provide a set of shop drawings and/or models, in time for manufacture and construction. We co-ordinate with other sub-contractors to pre-empt and resolve any potentially problematic interfaces prior to the construction stage. The use of Autodesk Navisworks provide a powerful planning and analysis tool in this area.
BIM helps to enhance a construction project in many ways, for example, by reducing cost, allowing better visualisation and increasing the speed of delivery.
This is achieved by collaborating with other companies and collecting data and information about each product, which is then placed into a 3D model, such as Revit, and is converted into a Cobie spreadsheet. The information obtained is used throughout the lifespan of a project, from design to construction. It can also be used to help with future maintenance of a building.
We have successfully completed numerous BIM projects, including:
