Glass Partition Installation: Our Expertise

Where We Operate

Optima now operates directly throughout the whole of England, Wales and Scotland, ensuring we deliver high-quality installations that exceed expectations. Across the rest of the UK, our products are installed by our exclusive approved partners.  In Northern Ireland, our partner is 1080 and in the Republic of Ireland, our partner for over eight years is Walls 2 Workstations.  The Channel Islands are covered by our partner Lotheringtons.

Internationally, Optima’s glass partition installation in the UAE is unique as we operate completely independently and require no third-party assistance. This allows us to stay true to our values whilst proudly working with all members of the local and international design communities.

In the Asia Pacific region, our approved partners continue to deliver a range of prestigious projects such as Porter Davis in Australia, SMU School of Law in Singapore and Here Solutions in India.  Our approved partners worldwide undergo a rigorous Optima training programme to ensure thorough quality standards are delivered on all projects.  They are fully supported by our regional offices and specialist teams at our UK headquarters.

Direct Workforce

With over 30 years’ experience in the fit-out industry, our dedicated team of Project Managers and Site Managers understand how to consistently deliver exceptional customer service and the highest quality installations, on-time and within budget.

We are extremely proud that many of our projects have won prestigious industry Awards for quality, demonstrating our commitment to delivering industry-leading installations.

Planning and Preparation

We pride ourselves on our meticulous planning, effective project scheduling, and proactive approach to site issues.  Design workshops are held on all projects to clarify the exact project requirements. We co-ordinate closely with all parties including the architect, contractor and relevant sub-contractors, to ensure that any design clashes are resolved before commencement on site.

The way that we operate and manage our projects to provide exceptional product quality and service is defined within our Business Management System (BMS).

Our BMS is simply a framework, which is then tailored to suit each of our client’s individual needs. This process ensures that every project is managed in the most effective, proactive and specifically tailored way possible.

Procedures outlined in this BMS describe a typical project lifecycle at Optima; from receipt of initial enquiry right through to project handover. Our BMS works to outline design, procurement, health and safety and quality management tasks, including the processes of internal audit and other mechanisms for quality and business improvement.

We have a directly employed labour team of fixers, specialist glaziers and Site Managers who are all experts in their field. Whether your project is large or small, we combine our knowledge and skill sets with proven delivery methods to achieve outstanding results.

Training

All of our Project Managers, Site Managers, and installers undergo a detailed training programme which is updated annually and is formally approved by the CITB.  Additionally, our team of Site Managers and Project Managers hold SMSTS certificates and our Site Managers are first aid and PASMA trained.

Site team members are required to regularly attend a number of refresher courses across a range of subjects, including glass handling, environmental awareness and working at height, to ensure their knowledge is kept up to date.

Site Health and Safety matters are overseen by our directly employed HSQE Manager. Each of our projects is regularly audited to ensure compliance with our procedures across not only health and safety but also quality and environmental aspects.

Our Approach

Our Project Managers have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the construction process and are committed to delivering projects on time, within budget, to the highest quality.

Progress is monitored throughout the duration of a project and regular team meetings take place on site to ensure that changes are effectively managed and the programme of works is adhered to.  By having a directly employed workforce we are able to ensure a completely co-ordinated approach as everything is under the control of the Optima Project Manager.

Communication is the key to a successful project outcome. We listen carefully and work in a collaborative manner, openly and honestly communicating with the professional team about design, cost and programme matters.

Procurement

Our products are manufactured in our UK-based factory and lead-in times are therefore short. We are not affected by a summer shut-down as some European manufacturers are, and we implement rigorous quality checking procedures at every stage of the manufacturing process. We are both ISO9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 accredited.

Supply Chain Management

We aim to use local suppliers wherever possible, minimising detrimental impacts of transport on the environment. The use of locally sourced materials supports the principals of our Environmental Policy. We regularly undertake management systems audits and technical audits of all major suppliers.

Feedback and Review

At Optima, we constantly strive to improve. We review all aspects of a project upon completion, from the design, cost, programme, and delivery.  We take on board feedback from our clients and implement changes that will allow us to offer an even better service on our next project!
